Battletech LGB-7Q Longbow

Padawan Tyler’s Longbow Mech!
Who’s brave enough to pilot a pink ‘mech?
This model started as a Ban Dai 1/100 scale kit from the Macross series. It is a Missile Phalanx Destroid, now converted into a BattleTech 3025 Universe ‘mech, known as a ‘Longbow’. (The model is a LGB-OW variant of the standard design, dropping all secondary weapons in favor of more speed.)
This was the third model I completed. I wanted to experiment with different color combinations. As well as trying out different weathering applications and techniques using MIG Powders.
I was going for the “been to hell, and not quite back yet” look. It certainly does look like it’s been ‘outside the wire’ far too long.
I also wanted to try out some new materials for the hex base, I used Foam Coat on the hex base to make a tarmac/freeway look to it. Kind of like a CityTech game piece.
Now, what’s next?……

Battletech WHM-6R Warhammer
by Senji on Mar.08, 2011, under Mechyard, News, Painted Models
This model was done by Senji Studio member Tyler Woo.
This started as a Ban Dai 1/100 scale model kit of the Macross Attack Tomahawk Destroid.
The paint and markings of this particular ‘mech identify this as the ‘mech of Natasha Kerensky, Commander of the Black Widow Company, of the mercenary unit, Wolf’s Dragoon’s.
Built to spec on the Battletech 3025 Universe, complete with hex base, just like the old Ral Partha mini’s. -Just bigger.
This was my first model I have constructed in 15 years, and was a blast to do! I did this model before the green Marauder ‘mech. but never got around to taking pictures of this particular one. As you can see not much for weathering at all and a rather boring color scheme, mostly, this was an exercise to see if I could get back into models again…
I guess it got Pandora out of the box again, so to speak…
